I called the installer who installed on June 26 2014, he said he was "too busy" to come out to take a look at it. I called another HVAC Company and they came out and spent 2+ hours and could not figure out why it wasn't working, as there are no "error codes" showing.

And without error codes, it would take more hours of calling Comfort Star and cost even more than the $280 that I already paid to have the company come out and not be able to diagnose it.

I called Comfort Star myself, and the girl would not allow me to speak to a technician because I was not an HVAC Repair company. I finally was able to get her to ask me the model number of my unit, and she said that the warranty ran out after 5 years, which I knew myself because I had the book right in front of me.

I was told that ComfortStar was not a good brand to buy. The units are supposed to last on average 18+ years, we only got 5 years+ out of ours, and we only used it the 3 summer months of the year, and only on hot days for a few hours a day at the very very most.

User's recommendation: Don't buy ComfortStar.

Monetary Loss: $3795.

Preferred solution: Partial refund, good luck to me!!!.

ComfortStar Pros: It worked for 3 months of the year from 2014-2019.

ComfortStar Cons: Stopped working after 5th year, Customer service non existant unless you are an hvac company.

Been broke now 9 months. Had to buy window units to keep house cool enough to stand to be inside
